Complete Horn Part Series

WMPSMusic has been serving the music community since 1995.

We specialize in all forms of music preparation, from film, studio and

session work to producing scores and parts for concert hall and theatre.

 The aim of this series is to provide horn students who wish to study the great symphonic repertoire, a complete short score of the music written for the horns.

We believe this to be the first time that all parts have been available

together in one book. This will be invaluable to students who may be

preparing for auditions, and tutors, who are guiding the horn section through the music at rehearsals.

 STEVEN READING (editor) was for many years a professional horn player in London. He has performed and recorded a huge amount of repertoire with most of the major symphony orchestras in the UK.

 As a student in the 1970s it was very difficult to prepare for engagements beforehand, as the music was, for the most part, not available for study before encountering it ‘on the music stand’.  The idea of producing complete parts that could be used and studied at home was born out of this situation, and also from the encouragement of:

 PETER DYSON  (4^th Horn City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and and Professor of Horn at Birmingham Conservatiore) who has checked these books against all available editions to make sure that all versions are represented here.

 There will, of course, be variations that will be spotted by the keen eyed of you.Please do not hesitate to contact me with your observations. Each book is printed to order, so all adjustments can be made as required.

We will be presenting the symphonies of Mahler, Bruckner, Tchaikovsky and Sibelius symphonies and  Holst’s ‘Planets Suite’. Future projects will include the major works of Debussy, Nielsen and the symphonies of Sir Edward Elgar.
